Catawba Community Mental Health Center serves York, Chester and Lancaster Counties of South Carolina.
This position is located at our Chester Clinic in Chester, SC.
Under general supervision of Clinic Director, performs routine & non-routine administrative / clerical activities in the Chester Clinic within CCMHC/SCDMH policies. Serves as the Chester County Clinic Engagement Specialist.
Complete patient intake duties including but not limited to scheduling, complete and verify patient records in EMR and CIS with each contact and update information as necessary, perform insurance verification and prior authorization for each patient at each appointment including administering an ABN when appropriate; ensure patient medical records are up to date and required documentation is imported into EMR.
Complete administrative tasks including but not limited to guiding patients through Patient Assistance process, coordinate maintenance requests with administrative office, ensure the clinic has appropriate supplies and monitors for waste, process all requests for medical records per policy within 30 days.
Serve as the Chester County Clinic Engagement Specialist which tasks include maintaining communication with patients regarding missed appointments, distributing care cards to post hospital discharge patients, coordinating distribution of TTI Project benefits in accordance with Catawba guidelines.
Serving as the Chester County Clinic Engagement Specialist, provide outreach to patients & their families who do not participate in treatment as outlined on their Individual Plan of Care to determine if services being provided are meeting the needs of the patient/family by contacting the patient within one business day after patient misses an appointment & employing clinical & interpersonal skills to engage the patient. Review services provided to patient/family as documented in EMR & offer recommendations to Treatment Team regarding service needs. Refer to Care Coordination Services & to CCMHC Housing Coordinator as appropriate.
Collect vitals including pulse, blood pressure, height and weight for psychiatry appointments and complete required documentation for patient records; process all requests for medical records per policy within 30 days.
As instructed, provide state vehicle coordination, submit monthly usage reports to Catawba administrative office; assist in the proper collection of patient and family satisfaction surveys for all services according to the schedule.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum and Additional Requirements
State Min. T & E: A high school diploma. Related clerical experience may be substituted for a high school diploma
Preferred Qualifications
Internal Min. T & E: A high school diploma and two years clerical experience; or an associate degree in secretarial science or other related field; or three years of clerical experience.
