Job Purpose (Summary): Responsible for supporting/assisting in implementation of office practices and procedures
Minimum Requirements:
1. Two years post-secondary education/training or five years of experience in medical billing and coding or front office for healthcare agencies;
2. Two years or more relevant job-related experience
3. Data entry skills, such as working knowledge of computer and basic report writing programs (i.e. WordPerfect and Excel (or experience with similar programs))
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
1. Data Entry
2. Perform general receptionist duties, such as answering the telephone, making appointments;
3. Enter client and required program data into computer;
4. Maintain medical records in compliance with State standards;
5. Process medical records requests, filing and office correspondence;
6. Maintain appointment schedules;
7. Copying and preparing medical records for release to other agencies/providers in response to requests;
8. Assist with general receptionist duties: answering telephone, greeing clients, routing clients to therapists, collecting fees, making appointments, etc.;
9. Assist in maintaining and copying forms—time sheets, travel vouchers, etc.;
10. Type office correspondence, records and reports;
11. Assist with intakes, medical record maintenance, and clerical support of clinical activities;
12. Maintain neat lobby;
13. Answer admission inquiries;
14. Initial processing and opening charts for new clients;
15. Be familiar with all office duties;
16. Verify and log in data received from staff;
17. Verify insurance eligibility;
18. Verify funding sources to make sure they are applicable; and
19. Other related duties as appropriate.
