Assistant Manager Home Infusion Pharmacy

The Assistant Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily business operation of all functional areas of the Infusion pharmacy, including intake, pharmacy, nursing, and warehouse functions, in addition to working collaboratively with the sales/ marketing team.

Responsibilities:

  • Establishes and maintain Burnham’s Vital Care Customer Experience standards of care to provide high-quality patient care and excellent service, while maintaining safe, cost-effective practices.
  • Optimizes staff productivity, including managing production and performance, setting staff schedules appropriate for business volume and activity trends, and identifying areas of growth and development.
  • Oversees purchasing and inventory to ensure the safe storage of prescription drugs in accordance with company policy and procedures.
  • Ensures compliance with all applicable company policies and procedures, federal and state laws and regulations, regulatory requirements and accreditation agency standards.
  • Complete all paperwork and reports for each patient during the intake process.
  • Coordinate patient care ensuring all medications and supplies are available and will be delivered on time to each patient
  • Coordinate nurses’ schedules when patients require in home appointments.
  • Contact prescribing physicians with any questions or concerns dealing with patients’ health
  • Collect insurance information, contact insurance companies for prior authorizations or medication approvals
  • Collect information for insurance companies’ audit requests
  • Assist patients in a manner that considers their special needs, age-related, and cultural-related needs.
  • Documents the patient record in a timely, accurate, and concise manner.
  • Continuously monitors pending referrals and ensures benefit verification and precertification have been completed timely and accurately

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, Pharmacy, Health Care Administration, OR
  • Licensed Practical Nurse Certification OR
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician
  • Minimum of three (3) years health care experience, including one (1) year in a managerial role, preferred
  • Broad knowledge of home infusion, pharmacy and nursing regulations
  • Excellent organization and communications skills
  • Clinical background preferred

Salary:

$40,000 – $80,000 Based on experience and degree

Pay: $40,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year
