  • Behavior Facilitators (TBT) candidates must have completed a course of studies earning a Bachelor’s Degree from a qualified institution of higher learning. Such transcripts of credits shall be on file in the office of the Superintendent of Education.
  • In accordance with Mississippi Code S37-9-17, all personnel employed by the public-school system shall be required to pass a criminal background check and a current child abuse registry check.
  • Demonstrate aptitude for, and interest in, working with students.
  • Demonstrate a pleasing personality and professional demeanor.
  • Attend required job-related trainings related to the position.
  • A satisfactory employment record.

REPORTS TO Special Education Director and Building Principal


Support students with disabilities and staff in developing and improving social/emotional learning skills which will reduce the need for disciplinary actions.


Such duties and responsibilities as may be assigned, including but not limited to: * Maintain confidentiality of student information

  • Provide training to students experiencing needs in the areas of social skills, character development and anger management. Maintains inventory of classroom social emotional learning resources.
  • Provide mentoring for the students who need extra help and guidance.
  • As consulted by the Principal or Certified Teacher, assist in implementing behavioral intervention plans and assist in evaluating and modifying such plans as needed.
  • Work with administrators, teachers, and other team members to assess students’ needs and to improve student behavior.
  • Supports the school administration with discipline issues as it relates to students with disabilities.
  • Collect, analyze, track, report, maintain, and disseminate behavioral progress and other reports as directed by certified teacher regarding student data.
  • Adhere to IDEA and MDE laws and regulations pertaining to special education.
  • Monitor timelines and deadlines required in accordance with required district, state, and federal guidelines.
  • Receive training in CPI by request of the school district in the application of non-violent restraint techniques, as proposed by Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) for use with students posing a physical danger to themselves, their peers, teachers, or others in the school environment.
  • Responsible for care and supervision of designated students during the time the students are on campus.
  • Follow best-practices for behavioral interventions, and other topics for the purpose of developing skills and establishing effective relationships with students with challenging behaviors.
  • Perform other such duties as assigned by the Director of Special Education and/or Building Administration.


Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Superintendent of Education, Assistant Superintendent of Education, and Director of Special Education or designee.

Uses standard office equipment such as personal computers, printer, copier and fax machines, calculator and telephone.


Travel to school district buildings, and professional meetings as required.


Works in standard office and school building environments.


184 days annually with salary in accordance with the Administrative Salary Schedule as approved by the Harrison County School District.


Performance of the Behavior Facilitator (TBT) will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions in the School Board Policies and Procedures.
