Business Development Rep (Entry-Level)

The Business Development Representative will be assigned a specific geographic territory and/or identified target customers with the responsibility of attracting NEW clients to educate and promote the various material handling products and services we offer to all levels in an organization. This includes, but is not limited to Raymond electric lift trucks, associated power, various warehouse products, integrated material handling systems, service, and fleet management /telematics offerings.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Sale of Raymond Electric lift-trucks and associated material handling products and services.
  • Attract new clients by overseeing the sales process for the business
  • Develop new accounts, through “cold calling”, networking, social media on potential new customers.
  • Utilize CRM system
  • Work with Account Management team members to identify opportunities
  • Identify and research opportunities that come up in new customers
  • Prepare and develop presentations to potential new clients
  • Foster a collaborative environment within the business as a whole
  • Communicate with clients to understand their needs and offer solutions to their problems
  • Make equipment recommendations and offer material handling systems and solutions.
  • Prepare proposals and presentations to support the sales process.
  • Prepare and maintain reports both customer- facing and internal.
  • Maintain communications with other departments to enhance our value proposition.
  • Maintain internal customer information.
  • Safely operate lift trucks for demonstration purposes.
  • Develop and maintain business plans.

Job Knowledge:

  • Possesses and applies a comprehensive knowledge of principles, practices and procedures related to business, sales and marketing.
  • Understand technical and financial documents on all related products.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business- related field.
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of sales experience.
  • Previous material handling industry experience is preferred but not required.

Physical Demands:

Typically works under conditions where required to sit or stand for long periods of time, such as working at the computer or in interactions with various people. Most of the time will be spent traveling visiting customers, which could include warehouse and/or office environments. Needs to be able to cope with stressors and demands that are associated with the job and/or the work environment so that acceptable and defined levels of performance are maintained. While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to sit, talk, hear and speak with good articulation and voice control. The associate is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms for light lifting, filing, inventory, computer work. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus. Some overnight travel may be required.

Work Environment:

Works in a variety of customer environments including manufacturing, distribution, cold storage, and out of doors with exposure to elements. Potential exposure to equipment movement hazards and dangerous chemical/solvents if proper safety procedures are not followed. This position also entails the necessity to work after normal working hours or on weekends based on customer need. Works under normal office conditions where required to sit for extended periods of time. Regularly spend significant amounts of time working in front of computer terminal or in interactions with various people. Some travel may be required. Needs to be able to cope with stressors and demands that are associated with the job and/or the work environment so that acceptable and defined levels of performance are maintained.

Pay: $45,000.00 – $100,000.00 per year
