Full Job Description

The Customer Service Representative is an essential part of the success of the Transportation Industry. He or she is responsible for maintaining and contacting assigned customers as well as planning and soliciting carriers to move customer shipments to meet each company goal and to insure the most efficient planning.


  • Works closely with the Carriers & Driver Managers, to assure information is relayed and completely understood on each movement.
  • Keeps management well informed of activities, important issues and provides support to Operation Team members as needed.
  • Coordinates activities with Accounting Team, Operations Team and Sales Team to ensure accuracy and expectations.
  • Establishes and maintains positive and effective business relations with carriers, coworkers, and customers.
  • Solicit Carriers and move shipments in a professional and timely manner.


  • Resolves any customer or carrier issues or otherwise discrepancies (short-pays, miles, layover etc.) daily by interacting with Accounting Team and other Departments for resolution.
  • Ensure that all goals and objectives are met on a weekly basis.
  • Provides weekly progress reports to Management concerning non-productive freight.


  • Excellent interpersonal skills, positive attitude.

  • Client focused responsive and flexible.
  • Self-starter, organized, detail oriented and able to function as a team player with minimal supervision.
  • Strong computer skills (TMS, DAT, MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook)
  • Excellent communication and writing skills.


  • Common sense understanding to carry out detailed instructions and to deal with a variety of issues and deadlines.
  • Able to recognize, comprehend and obtain company goals and objectives.
  • Identifies potential problem areas proactively and recommends strategies to prevent or solve issues.
