Summary of Job Duties: The Data Analyst works under the direction of the Rural Telehealth Evaluation Center (RTEC) Director and Deputy Director and to function as a member of RTEC team for synthesizing and evaluating information gleaned from in-depth analysis for the purpose of program evaluation, research, fulfilling contractual agreements from extramurally-funded awards, and planning or developing specific service programs and initiatives as assigned.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree plus three (3) years of experience extracting and preparing data for statistical analysis.

Ability to Follow Oral Instruction, Read and Write

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s Degree in science, health, statistics, research, business, public health, or a related field plus one (1) year of experience in research and/or evaluation data analysis required

Doctor of Philosophy in health-related sciences with a quantitative focus

Special knowledge, abilities and skills:

Knowledge of statistical and/or programming software including SPSS, SAS, Stata, R, and/or Python

Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel

Ability to lead or present research/evaluation processes and results, training, or organizational presentations

Additional Information:

Responsibilities:

Assist the RTEC Director, Deputy Director, and other RTEC investigators in the development, implementation, and analysis of evaluation and research projects

Employs advanced research data collection methods including internal databases and records; local, state, national public data; organizational data; financial documents; surveys, etc

Perform quality assurance measures for relevant data sets

Analyze the results from quantitative data sets in order to answer research and evaluation questions

Determines methodology, objectives, and query runs that assist in evaluating data quality and compliance

Prioritizes specific tasks, assesses available resources to accomplish program goals

Coordinates activities associated the evaluation team to meet timelines and goals

Initiates corrective actions and/or revisions and provides technical direction and support to program personnel

Disseminates and interprets analysis findings to team members

Coordinates internal and external personnel in activities to identify needs, problems and promote accomplishments of the RTEC team

Conducts meetings to discuss program initiatives, progress or problems

Ability to lead or present research/evaluation processes and results, training, or organizational presentations

Maintains resource files on specific RTEC content.

Performs related responsibilities as assigned or required including assistance with grants, scholarly publications, deliverables to grantors such as reports and presentations, and other organizational or administrative evaluation/research tasks.
