Full Job Description

Under general supervision, employee serves as the Data Entry Clerk for the St. Joseph County Department of Health within the Health Equity, Epidemiology, and Data (HEED) Unit. The employee is responsible for ensuring that data is correctly entered into a database or other system. This position will work with a variety of public health datasets, but primarily data from the lead poisoning program. This position will need to coordinate with the HEED, Environmental, and Nursing Units of the Department of Health to build surveillance capacity and ensure data entry consistency and accuracy. Clerk will interact with data using surveillance platforms and their supporting databases, such as the NEDSS Base System (NBS) and Research Electronic Data Capture (REDCap).
Essential Functions: Compiles and enters data into REDCap, NBS and iLead databases for the lead poisoning prevention program.
Verify data accuracy and help resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
Coordinate with other units within the Department to ensure that data is entered accurately, and projects completed on time.
Helps data analysts and environmental health specialists maintain a data collection system to monitor, evaluate and report program progress toward achievement of project goals and objectives.

Qualifications*
One year of data entry or analysis experience and completion of GED or high school diploma. Intermediate-level proficiency with Excel.
