Job description: The Texarkana Arkansas School Distrct is seeking applicants for elementary school (K-5th grade) vocal music teacher for the 2023-2024 school year. Applicants must pass a national criminal background check and be cleared by the Arkansas Child Maltreatment Registry prior to beginning employment.
PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences designed to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
Bachelor’s degree from accredited university
Valid Arkansas teaching certificate in vocal music or eligible to receive Arkansas teaching certificate in vocal music
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of vocal music
General knowledge of curriculum and instruction
Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Experience:
At least one year of student teaching or approved internship
The Board may find appropriate and acceptable alternatives to the above qualifications.
