Full Job Description
THE POSITION

The Pennsylvania Fish & Boat Commission is seeking to fill a permanent Fish Culture Station Foreman position with the Linesville State Fish Hatchery in Crawford County. If you are a reliable, hard-working individual who likes being outdoors, and seeks a career in fisheries, this may be the job for you!

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position supervises fish culturists in the propagation of fish for stocking waters of Pennsylvania for the benefit of anglers and species conservation. Most duties are outside, and this person will have varied jobs working with fish that include spawning, incubation, feeding, sorting fish, stocking, and providing tours to the public.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment.

Work hours are 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, Monday – Friday, with 30-minute lunch.

Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
One year of experience as a Fish Culturist 2; or

Two years of technical experience in the propagation and care of food or game fish; or

An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Necessary Special Requirement:
This position requires possession of an active Class B Commercial Driver’s License.

You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:
This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.

Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
