The General Accountant will be involved in many areas within the Accounting Department, such as, General Accounting and Cost Accounting. This position ensures that all accounting information is consistently prepared and in compliance with Company Policy.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Operate a computer with Microsoft Windows-based programs. Must be proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Must be a fast learner in using our in-house ERP system and/or SAP for use in comparing actual expenditures with expected expenditures.
Raw Material Purchases – Daily, Weekly and Monthly Reconciliations and Reporting.
General Ledger: Book Journal Entries, Prepare Account Reconciliations, and Weekly/Monthly/Quarterly Reporting.
Perform internal audits with assisting with procedures performed in both Corporate and Plants.
Perform Cost Accounting functionalism of assisting as needed with Weekly/ Monthly reporting and reconciliations.
Other duties as assigned.
This position will have no direct supervisory responsibilities.

Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university in Accounting or related field preferred. One to two years related experience and/or training preferred.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customer, and the general public.
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Accounting software; Internet software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
