This position is located at the Department of Mental Health, Division of Inpatient Services, 220 Faison Drive, Columbia, SC 29203
As the Informatics Data Analyst (Program Manager I), you will partner with ONIT resources. Assists with creating, revising, maintaining and disseminating reports by deliverable dates set by DIS Leaders. Understands data sources and maintains data integrity. Analyzes data trends that may indicate a need for software modifications, workflow/practice changes, and/or additional training. Promotes system functionality by participating in workflow design, and testing of DIS software systems with an eye toward identifying pertinent metrics. Functions as a member of the Informatics team providing on call end user support per rotational schedule. Participates in meetings with DIS Leaders as requested to collaborate on reporting needs and optimization opportunities.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Collaborates with ONIT reporting analyst to prepare presentation of scheduled and unscheduled reports for DIS Leadership that effectively reflect trends, patterns and predictions using relevant data; Facilitates running KPI reports from myAvatar for DIS Leadership.
- Designs/Creates mock-up for new reports according to user specifications/data requests ensuring data integrity. Evaluates current workflow to
verify data capture is available and accurate. * Serves as support liaison between clinical staff and IT staff to successfully bridge gaps within the EHR clinical workflows.
- Performs system testing and technical/software support for the EHR, timekeeping and other software systems at DIS.
- Identifies areas where technology/software systems will impact both clinical and non-clinical workflows and work collaboratively with
operational stakeholders to incorporate those workflow changes. * Training/Education: Maintains compliance with annual and one-time training requirement – including but not limited to CPR, MAPS and
Corporate Compliance. Adheres to professional standards and abides by SCDMH policies. Reports any violations of SCDMH or regulatory policies to the appropriate personnel. Stays abreast of current trends, practices and changes to technology and software systems utilized at DIS/SCDMH and industry wide technology trends.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
State Minimum Requirements: A bachelor’s degree and relevant programming experience.
Agency Requirement: A bachelor’s degree in a healthcare field of study.

Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Requirements: A master’s degree in a healthcare field of study and at least four (4) years’ experience in clinical informatics (Clinical Informatics experience, a degree or certification in Informatics). Experience in a behavioral health setting is a plus.
Additional Comments
The selected candidate is expected to go into the clinical area where patients and clinical staff are located at times, therefore, must become and remain certified in CPR and MAPS training, should an emergency occur requiring intervention. Travel to DIS facilities may be required. Must be able to take call, be proficient in basic office software and training and software equipment and able to lift up to fifty (50) pounds on occasion.
