Advertised Job Summary:

Performs paraprofessional library work relating to maintenance of circulation files. Assist users at circulation and exit gate desks. Provides circulation services to library users, including charging, discharging and searching for library materials. Verifies authorized users of the library, mails overdue notices and assists in the collection of overdue materials. Creates reports. Tracks use of services. Monitors building use. Assists in supervising the work of student employees to include assigning daily duties, assisting with evaluations, and other duties related to managing student workers. Acts in the place of the night supervisor upon their absence. This position has been designed as essential personnel during inclement/hazardous weather and other emergencies.

Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions):

High school diploma and experience in library or clerical work.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Knowledge of clerical operations, processes, techniques and procedures. Knowledge of modern library organization, research methodology, and procedures. Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy, completeness and thoroughness in work. Ability to follow systematic methods of work. Ability to assist in the supervision of others.
