We are currently seeking a Logistics Specialist/Dispatcher for our Columbus, INfacility.

The Logistics Specialist/Dispatcher position ensures that incoming orders are executed and customer satisfaction is achieved. The Logistics Specialist position coordinates the drivers and equipment for the most efficient and productive use of equipment and driver time. This position monitors the number of loads assigned to each of the Logistics Specialist’s designated drivers to provide an equitable distribution of work. The Logistics Specialist maintains continual communication with customers regarding current orders and anticipates future requirements.


Position may involve performing other duties as required, which may not be mentioned below. Specific functions may change from time to time.

A. \*Execute customer orders from receipt of order through to delivery of product by building loads, assigning drivers and equipment.

B. \*Monitor driver and vehicle performance while en route through automated tracking software, including route issues and potential Hours of Service constraints.

C. \*Determine disposition of equipment and driver after delivery of goods to customer.

D. \*Assist drivers with load and customer or paperwork issues, whenever required, including after normal business hours.

E. \*Monitor and address delayed times on loads to determine if there were customer issues, driver and/or equipment problems or other unforeseen circumstances. Notify customers and enter notes for billing, as necessary.

F. \*Update customers regarding order status, including any issues that impact order requirements.

G. \*Coordinate scheduling of mandated DOT testing with shop(s) to ensure maximum availability of vehicle in response to customer requirements.

H. \*Follow through with drivers on required trailer inspection documentation to prevent equipment being taken out of service.

I. \*Keep customer files up to date and enter updates into system as needed.

J. \*Enter loads for various locations and products as needed.

K. \*Ensures proper utilization of all assets assigned to location.

L. Attends Company and industry-related meetings, as required.

M. Establishes individual goals which are aligned with the Company’s business strategies and objectives.

N. Performs other job-related duties as assigned by executive leadership.


A. The ability to work under intense pressure and multitask to resolve critical issues related to customer deliveries and driver safety.

B. Ability to work extended hours and work weeks, including weekends.

C. Timely delivery of goods and customer satisfaction with services provided

D. Profitable use of equipment and equitable distribution to drivers of available loads.

E. Ability to professionally and effectively correspond with external and internal clients and vendors via phone, email, and written correspondence.

F. Excellent attention to detail in a rapidly changing environment.

G. Demonstrated excellence in both oral and written communication skills including the ability to communicate well over the telephone.

H. Maintenance of Company information in a confidential manner.


A. Consistent use of computer, requiring visual focus.

B. Ability to work long hours and accommodate customer/driver needs during non-standard work hours.

C. Consistent ability to problem-solve and provide prompt resolution to time sensitive customer and driver concerns.

D. The ability to lift up to 25 pounds on a consistent basis.

E. The ability to bend, push, pull and reach requiring consistent use of hands and arms.

working environment and conditions

A. The working environment is primarily indoors in a general office environment.

B. Some travel may be required to and from customer meetings, company terminals, company meetings and other events.


A. A High School Diploma or equivalent required.

B. Experience in transportation industry, including familiarity with DOT and FMCSR preferred but not required.

C. Familiarity with Omnitracs preferred.

D. Experience with customer service and problem resolution is highly desired.
