In this Supply Planning Manager role, you will drive the different efficiency initiatives related to Supply Chain to improve inbound and outbound flow, maximizing product availability, freshness and optimizing working contributing the member experience.

As a Sam’s Club Supply Planning Manager, you will:

  • Have ownership over the Supplier – Replenishment – Merchant relationship for a given portfolio of items ensuring industry leading on time, in full (OTIF) performance.
  • Understand supply networks and constraints upstream from Sam’s Club and ensure orders are generated in a way that drives industry leading execution.
  • Determine the root causes of inventory supply issues and implement solutions and process changes to drive solutions in an operationally efficient way – communicate supply issues and “get well” dates accurately and effectively.
  • Address efficiency issues related to Supply Chain and Operations; communicate and coordinate supply plans to ensure all stakeholders within the Supply Chain have plans to support volume.
  • Conduct supply chain plans with suppliers on various planning horizons to ensure sales are maximized and Member’s expectations are exceeded. In addition, track inventory through the supply chain to ensure critical in-club dates such as seasonal sets and planograms are always met.
  • Action a series of replenishment exceptions daily that affect supply and impact Clubs and Members.

  • You can quickly synthesize large amounts of data into insights and recommendations to drive the business

Responsibilities include:

Flow Optimization:

  • Builds, Drives, tracks initiatives to improve inbound and outbound flow.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to build the most efficient flow model.
  • Smooth order flow and leveling of Must Arrive by Dates (MABD), supplier service, delivery schedules, inventory levels/flow packaging, merchandise display standards, item placement, other merchandise related factors.
  • Provides performance feedback and recommendations on process improvements to suppliers

Data Driven Decisions:

  • Drives consistent communication in order to understand potential breakdowns in supplier logistics
  • Perform root cause analysis on quality issues in partnership with functional partners and develops solutions.
  • Analyzes impacts to the profit-and-loss statement of various actions taken to improve Supply Chain and Operations efficiencies.
  • Facilitates interrelationships and information sharing between Merchandising, Supply Chain, and Operations partners
  • Attend and respond timely the different exceptions reported in the Replenishment tools

Product Availability:

  • Coordinates with Supply Chain partners to understand and solution network capacity, transportation, and other logistics issues.
  • Take actions to address shrink and waste through collaboration with partners.
  • Planning and implementing short term supply tactics in order to support the commercial plans meeting the availability and inventory goals.

Inventory Optimization:

  • Active participation on 30, 60, 90, providing flow improvement recommendation, product availability exceptions, supply chain disruptions and mitigation actions
  • Identify and propose solutions in overstock items @ clubs and DCs.
  • Work with merchant and micro space defining the correct inventory levels at the club
  • Safety stock maintenance in the different Replenishment systems
