Job description: With our Agency’s mission to support the recovery of people with mental illnesses, we provide a complete array of medical and support services for children, adults, and families throughout South Carolina.
The position is located at 2100 Charlie Hall Boulevard, Charleston, SC 29414, but will be embedded at the Charleston Police Department located at 180 Lockwood Drive, Charleston, SC 29403.
Under limited supervision, provides clinical assessments and therapeutic services for individuals in the community while with a CPD officer in a ride-along position. Will work with adults/children who have a possible mental health diagnosis and are in need of therapeutic interventions and resources in a community setting and display a need for mental health services.
Expectation of meeting patients where they are (physically; at home, or in the community) to include safety in the field training.State Minimum Requirements: A master’s degree in guidance, counseling, the social sciences or a related field.
Agency (DMH) Minimum Requirements: A master’s or doctorate degree from an accredited program, university, or college in psychology, social work, counseling, marriage and family counseling, or other behavioral discipline deemed equivalent by SCDMH and two (2) years of post-graduate experience in a clinical counseling program.The South Carolina Department of Administration offers an exceptional benefits package for FTE positions that includes:
