Position Summary:
The purpose of this job is to process and close mortgage loans, review loan documentation, provide assistance and service to assure customer satisfaction.

Essential Functions-Primary Responsibilities and Accountabilities (90%):

Essential Task Statement(s)

Branch Credit/Ownership (80%)

Process and submit mortgage loan for underwriting.

Clear underwriting conditions, loan documentation and policy exceptions.

Perform self-employed income analyses and cash flow statements.

Adhere to guidelines set for by Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, USDA, VA and FHA.

Research information to comply with HOEPA guidelines.

Responsible for gathering loan documentation necessary to close a loan such as: credit bureau reports, flood certifications, census tracts, proof of hazard insurance and flood insurance when necessary, verifications, and all other required documentation.

Prepares title applications and exhibits for deeds of trust when necessary.

Responsible for verifying that all necessary information has been secured such as: appraisals/evaluations, UCC searches, title opinions, and any other required information.

Enter mortgage loans in loan origination software.

Compiles all information, prepares closing package and closing instructions.

Interacts with customer, answers inquiries, closes the loan, and disburses funds.

Initiates wire transfers on behalf of customers.

Responsible for balancing loan and preparing appropriate entries.

Scans entries and completed loan documents and sends to appropriate departments to be loaded into the system.

Prepares new loan files and maintains existing files.

Completes HMDA forms, CRA forms, and Real Estate Review checklists when required.

Prepares reports as requested by lender.

Types letters to customers (and others) as required to process mortgage loans.

Ensure bank is in compliance with federal banking regulations including, but not limited to Bank Secrecy Act, OFAC, Community Reinvestment Act, American with Disabilities Act, Right to Financial Privacy Act, Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, the Federal Reserve’s “lettered” regulations, and Mortgage Loan Processing roles and responsibilities relating to each act.

Customer Service (10%)

Represent Guaranty Bank & Trust Company professionally, efficiently, and tactfully.

Acknowledge and greet customers with a smile, call customer by their name, ask if they need any additional assistance, thank customer at end of every conversation.

Ensure continuing development of professional relationships with management and colleagues.

Follow all bank policies and procedures.

Answer and assist incoming callers with questions and requests, subsequently route callers, as appropriate.

Receive incoming bank visitors and assist in directing them appropriately.

Position Qualifications

Education: Required – High School Diploma or equivalent.

Preferred – Post –secondary certificate or degree, experience will be considered.

Experience: Required – 2 to 5 years of experience in banking or related field.

Preferred – 5 to 7 years of experience in banking or a related area
