Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is looking for a Non-Destructive Test Specialist (2nd or 3rd Shift) to support the 787 Quality Site based out of North Charleston, South Carolina.

Successful candidates will be responsible for non-destructive testing and acceptance of repairs to company products and conducts certification preparation training.

Position Responsibilities:
Performs non-destructive testing (NDT) of parts, assemblies and primary structure to support engineering evaluation

Performs non-destructive inspection in the five major methods: UT(ultrasonic), ET (eddy), RT (radiography), MT (magnetic particle), and PT (penetrant) (UT and ET are a requirement with the understanding that future certification in the other methods are expected)

Interprets various non-destructive inspection (NDI) specifications and ensure compliance

Develops or revises NDT procedures and techniques

Provides written reports as-needed

Supports training and development of others in NDT

Performs setup for specialized non-destructive test equipment

Performs tests or inspections and collects data

Documents, analyzes and communicates results and assists with corrective action recommendation

Accepts product repairs and responsible for non-destructive testing

Participates in developing new procedures and techniques

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
NAS410 Certified Level 2 in UT and ET. Must have documented evidence available for Boeing Level 3 review

Must be capable of working in confined spaces and fit through a 10” x 18” opening

Must be able to work from heights in excess of 75 feet

Excellent communication skills (both written and oral)

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
NAS410 Certified Level 2 or Level 3 in at least four of the following five methods: UT, ET, RT, MT, PT; Must have documented evidence available for Boeing Level 3 review

Experience inspecting composite material is an asset

Analyzing and interpreting Ultrasonic C-scans is an asset

Experience running automated inspection equipment

Digital radiography experience is an asset

Typical Education/Experience:
3 or more years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Relocation:
This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility
