Job description: Insight Global is searching for multiple Oceanic Model Developers to support a government customer in Mississippi. This team is focused on data collection and research surrounding oceanic trends around ocean models. Responsibilites in this role include, but are limited to:
Developing and maintaining the analytical software systems used to conduct research on oceanic modeling and oceanic dynamics.
Execute ocean models and develop software to analyze and validate the performance of the models.
Document processes of code development as well as research/analytical findings around temperatute, wave circulation, salinity, depth, etc.
Troubleshoot and debug the software as needed.
Masters Degree or PhD in Science, Mathematics, Physics, or related field
Experience studying oceanography including models of the ocean, surface waves, ice, atmosphere, etc.
Ability to perform research, data collection, data analysis, and statistical analysis
Python or Fortran programming for graphics and model outputs
C or C++ development to make modifications to the software used for data collection
