Job Summary

The ACAA’s Operations Supervisor – AGC will report to the General Aviation Duty Manager and assumes responsibility for ensuring the condition and safety of the airport is maintained for compliance and preparedness in accordance with established Federal, State and local regulations and operational standards.

Here is how the Operations Supervisor – AGC will help:

  • Conduct airfield, apron and terminal inspections and reports conditions to the management, County Airport personnel, tenants and the AGC Air Traffic Control Tower
  • Conduct routine inspections and monitors airfield and terminal conditions with regard to maintaining a safe, efficient and orderly operation in compliance with existing regulations
  • Determine the need for closure/opening of the airfield or portion thereof for routine maintenance, snow removal operations and emergencies and operational needs
  • Coordinate emergency responses to aircraft alerts, disasters and other emergencies as necessary
  • Maintain direct contact with upper-level management in the event of emergencies, unusual situations, or serious events that may occur requiring guidance or assistance.
  • Provide weekly fee collection reports and monthly meter reports to the Finance Department.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot the access control and badge systems in coordination with vendor.
  • Administer the identification badge program.
  • Administer the ASSA Cliq and Schlage PRIMUS key systems.
  • Monitor gate activity through CCTV.
  • Operate friction measuring equipment and report coefficient of friction values.
  • Document details related to incidents on airport property.
  • Maintain a daily shift log of events on airport grounds and corrective actions.
  • Actively participates in on-going training programs.
  • Performs other related tasks as assigned or required.

Qualifications

Requirements to apply for role of Operations Supervisor – AGC are:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in aviation management, operations management or a related field.
  • Two-Three (2-3) years related experience.
  • Possess or obtain prior to employment a valid Pennsylvania Class C driver’s license. Note: license must be maintained throughout employment.

We also expect that candidates will demonstrate the following knowledge, skills, and abilities in most cases:

  • Extensive working knowledge of FAA airfield radio procedures.
  • Working knowledge of FAA FAR Parts 139, 77, and TSA 1542.
  • Knowledge of snow removal and ice control operations.
  • Knowledge of the JD Edwards (JDE) system.
  • Knowledge of ASSA/CLIQ System.

Ability to:

  • solve practical problems and deal with numerous variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, representatives of other agencies and the general public.
  • utilize digital tools and Microsoft Office software, including Word and Excel
  • maintain all 139 training requirements.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus. Must be able to understand and speak English clearly. Must be able to drive at night.

CONDITIONS

Exposure to general office noise as well as sounds associated with equipment and radio alarms. Exposure to lights, noise, Aviation fuels and chemicals associated with aircraft, heavy equipment, snow and ice control. Works both inside and outside regardless of weather conditions. Regularly works near moving mechanical parts as well as aircraft. This position is assigned rotating shifts based on a 24-hour, 7 days a week work schedule, including holidays and may at times be the only management staff on the premises. Operations supervisors are subject to remain on duty beyond the scheduled shift and/or are required to report to work as needed for operational necessity. This position may be assigned on-call status on an intermittent or regularly scheduled basis.
