We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced paramedic instructor to join our award-winning paramedic program director and lead instructor at Midlands Technical College. The ideal candidate should have a deep knowledge of paramedic program content, including EMT and Paramedic curriculum, national registry standards, national and state scope of practice, and best practices related to evolving standards of care. This person should also have experience teaching and designing, administering, and evaluating training programs. As a Paramedic Instructor, you will be responsible for planning, developing, and teaching classroom content within the paramedic program. You will collaborate with the Paramedic Program Director to collect data and make program adjustments to meet accreditation standards. You will also work with the medical director, associate medical director, and students to create a meaningful and effective classroom experience. Additionally, you will provide advisement to potential students and evaluate students as needed. You will also work with EMT and Paramedic adjunct faculty to coordinate class schedules and assist with healthcare needs. Effective communication skills and the ability to plan and manage program details are essential for this role. This position is located on the Airport Campus in the Corporate and Continuing Education department.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare or related field; or associate’s degree and demonstrated competencies in a healthcare or related field. AHA and NAEMT instructor and teaching experience preferred. Must be SC DHEC Paramedic Instructor or ability to obtain SC DHEC Paramedic Instructor certification. Required certifications: NRP, SC Paramedic, AHA BLS, and SC Driver’s License.

Preferred Qualifications

At least three (3) years as a paramedic and experience with online teaching and learning management systems. AHA and NAEMT instructor and teaching experience preferred.
