Full Job Description
Responsibilities for the Director of Admissions:
- Overall responsibility of directing the admissions process for all new Admissions to the Nursing facility.
- Coordinates and facilitates the admissions process
- Establishing and maintaining professional relationships with community members, hospital leadership, discharge coordinator, caseworkers, physicians, senior living communities, senior centers, and all other admission sources to generate consistent admission and repeat referral sources.
- Guides the department to ensure strong customer, referrer and payer satisfactions, positive public image and average daily census goals.
- Completes weekly, monthly and other reports, as assigned, in a timely and comprehensive manner.
- Maintains current knowledge and understanding of client payment sources, i.e. HMO, commercial insurance, Medicare, Medicaid, etc.
\*Qualifications of the Director of Admissions\*:
- Skilled nursing experience is a must
- Minimum of (1) or more years experience working at a SNF, subacute, rehab, in Admissions.
- Experience with admission coordination preferred
- Demonstrate capabilities of management and leadership and working hand in hand with other departments including nursing and social services
- Working knowledge of Admissions programs, including referral systems and other related computer programs necessary for the management of the department
- Possess the ability to type and is proficient in computers
- Must have effective communication skills, both verbal and written
- Clinical LPN or Social Work a plus, but not required
