What you’ll do…
We are seeking a Principal Software Engineer for a key position within Enterprise Business Services to help drive the next generation of DevOps adoption and improve operational awareness.
EBS provides people and business shared services globally for all of Walmart’s lines of businesses including People, Finance, Digital Experience and Global Governance.
You’ll make an impact by:
- Showing strong technical leadership with the ability to influence teams across the organization.
- Demonstrating the ability to prioritize and work across concurrent projects.
- Working across multiple lines of business to modernize processes, helping teams deliver features at a rapid pace to ensure we build scalable and sustainable value-stream products for our business and associates.
- Providing guidance and leading the creation and implementation of technology solutions by reviewing current architecture roadmaps, and designing transitional roadmaps for future architecture, including managing cloud budget, and total ownership cost
- Partnering with Infrastructure and Platform teams to identify gaps and opportunities to invest time and resources to improve delivery across the organization.
- Improving the software technology environment through application of industry best practices; researching the latest developments in software technology applicable to the enterprise; analyzing industry best practices; and benchmarking internal processes and solutions against industry technology and trends
- Assisting in the development, training, and mentoring of associates by providing guidance, and building a team-based work environment; leveraging data to establish performance goals and working with management to improve the working environment;
- Promote and support company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by training and providing direction to others in their use and application; ensuring compliance with them; and utilizing and supporting the Open-Door Policy.
- Ensure business needs are being met by evaluating the ongoing effectiveness of current plans, programs, and initiatives; consulting with business partners, managers, co-workers, or other key stakeholders; soliciting, evaluating, and applying suggestions for improving efficiency and cost effectiveness; and participating in and supporting community outreach events.
What you’ll bring..
- Over 12+ years of experience in building and modernizing a broad array of technology spanning both front and backend development.
- Strong expertise in modern development practices and CICD
- Strong expertise enterprise architecture, integration patterns, data models and algorithms
- Clear, concise communication skills
- Ability to multitask between several different requirements and features concurrently.
- Experience with cloud native technology and platform capabilities
- Superior analytical skills with a good problem-solving attitude.
- Ability to perform in a team environment.
- Have a true passion about Technology.
- Strong development experience in multiple modern programming languages such as Java, NodeJs, GoLang, Python, ReactJS
- Extensive experience in cloud architecture and strong understanding of cloud technology, including – Global Tech Managed Service Offerings, Security and Cloud migration.
