Procurement Manager

Under general supervision of Director of Finance, this position will be responsible to perform and oversee the procurement process, fixed assets, inventory, and capital projects while acting as a backup to the Director of Finance in specific areas of the Business Office.

Responsibilities of Procurement Manager

  • Responsible for preparing, training, and overseeing the procurement process for the technical college to ensure staff are properly trained on the RFP and Procurement related procedures to ensure compliance with all state and federal laws, regulations, and requirements.
  • Responsible for tagging and tracking fixed assets as well as proper disposal of fixed assets.
  • Assists in various reporting requirements through the fiscal year to ensure all deadlines are met and accurate reports are submitted in a timely manner to respected entity or person.
  • Provides oversight of the credit card, purchase orders, and travel to ensure following all procurement guidelines and allowable cost for all types of funds and compliance with grant purchases.
  • Responsible for serving as liaison for Director of Finance and presenting financial information, statements, and updates in his/her absence for meetings at the college and throughout the state.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

State Minimum Requirements: A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business or related field and professional experience directly related, such as accounting, auditing, finance or commercial lending.

Must have a valid driver’s license.

NETC Preferred Requirements: Experience in procurement and contracts.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of rules, regulations, and provisions of the Consolidated Procurement Code and management of procurement, property management, inventory control and supply functions. Knowledge of MS Excel and manage inventory, fixed assets, and capital projects systems. Ability to train other personnel, maintain good working relationships, comprehend complex regulations, and able to effectively communicate effectively technical written and verbally. Ability to fulfill the duties as back up to the Director of Finance related to Finance and Accounting duties as needed.

Additional Comments

Receives direction and support from the Director of Finance regarding administrative tasks. Some overnight travel may be required. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., stand for long periods of time and able to bend and lift for periods of time.

Expected salary: $41777 – 77298 per year
