THE POSITION

The Department of Corrections is seeking a detailed orientated, highly motivated person to join our team as a Records Supervisor.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Records Supervisor for the Department of Corrections, you will be performing supervisory work in the inmate records control program for the institution. You will be responsible for reviewing and certifying computations and parole board re-commitment action changes by computing sentences to verify the accuracy, review and analysis of legal documents related to sentencing, and recomputing sentences if required. You will be conducting reviews, interpreting and classifying of court orders relating to commitments and the related computation of release dates and parole eligibility. You will be communicating with Department of Corrections staff, inmates, and other agencies regarding sentence structures that were certified through the unit.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment.

Work hours are 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday – Friday, with 30-minute lunch.

This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 60 or 65.

Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $46,318(before taxes).

Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
Two years experience as a Corrections Records Specialist; Or

One year experience as a Records Specialist 2; Or

Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Other Requirements:

You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Condition of Employment:
This position requires the employee to obtain Commonwealth Law Enforcement Assistance Network (CLEAN) certification within three months of employment and maintain this certification for the duration of employment in this job.

Legal Requirements:
A conditional offer of employment will require submission of criminal history reports.

You must pass a background investigation.
