Job description: Evolve Healthcare seeks qualified RNFAs to assist to work in the Operating Room at Anderson Regional in Meridian, MS.
Must have experience in Endoscopic Vein Harvesting.
Shift: 0630 -1500 Monday-Friday
40 hours per week
Length of assignment: 13 or 26 weeks with opportunity to extend
Required: Mississippi RN license (or compact), CNOR, BLS
Within 6 months of start: ACLS, PALS
Partial List of Duties:
- Professional Requirements:
- Has required the necessary knowledge, judgment, and skills specific to the expanded RNFA clinical practice.
- Collaborates and communicates with other health care providers regarding preoperative patient management and plan of care.
- Demonstrates intraoperative performance of surgical first assisting techniques such as:
- Using instruments and medical devices
- Providing visualization of the operative site,
- Handling and/or cutting tissue
- Utilizes appropriate technique to assist with hemostasis
- Suturing
- Wound management,
- Involved in post operative patient management and collaborates with other health care providers in the immediate post operative period.
- Provides appropriate handling and labeling of all specimens, cultures, and blood draws according to department and hospital policy and procedure.
- Accurately performs all sponge, needle, instrument and sharp counts at appropriate times according to policy and procedure of the department.
- Follows department policy for wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) during all procedures.
- Transports patients to appropriate post-op destination.
- Demonstrates necessary skills and knowledge to provide care for patients according to unit specific competencies.
- Accepts additional nursing care assignments and performs under the direction of the surgeon.
- Demonstrates ability to handle emergency situations in a prompt, precise, and professional manner.
- Compassionately gives personal care to provide comfort and well-being to the patient, acknowledging physiological and psychological needs.
- Performs RNFA duties according to departmental policy and procedure.
- Confirms availability of surgeon before patient induction by anesthesia.
Compensation: $3059.00 wk /$76.48 hr per 40 hr week (includes $1099 stipend. $49.00 hr base)
