Full Job Description
Position Summary:
Reports to the designated supervisor. Performs a variety of clerical and administrative duties in compliance with American Correctional Association (ACA) standards, Management & Training Corporation (MTC), and Mississippi Department of Corrections (MDOC) directives.

Essential Functions:
Type correspondence, reports and letters.

Proofread material to verify accuracy.

Maintain records and files.

Maintain appropriate office supplies for the department.

Operate office equipment, including computers.

Log and distribute incoming mail, prepare outgoing mail, answer telephone and convey messages.

Operate telephone communications and mail handling as assigned.

Promote the development of positive social skills through modeling appropriate behaviors and intervening when inappropriate behaviors are observed.

Maintain accountability of inmates and property; adhere to safety practices.

It is expected that the incumbent shall perform other duties as assigned within his/her capabilities as determined by management.

Education and Experience Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required. One (1) year clerical or related experience including word processing and computer data entry preferred. Valid drivers’ license in the state of Mississippi or Louisiana with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management.
