Competitive starting rate of $16.56 per hour with the potential to make over $19.00 per hour after successfully completing probationary period. Entry level employees can participate in the internal job bid process with potential earnings of over $22.00 per hour for successful placement within an operations department.
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:
Our Cypress Bend, Arkansas facility is located in the heart of the Mississippi River Delta and produces bleached paperboard and bleached Kraft pulp, used in the production of folding cartons, commercial print paperboard, carded packaging and cupstock. The Service Crew position is the entry level position at the Cypress Bend location, responsible for learning all areas of the manufacturing facility, general housekeeping, and assisting with efficient operations, producing a high-quality product.
Operational and Quality Control
Assist with preparing and transporting product at different stages and areas of the site
Work with Operators during downtime, machine and product changes, and product start ups
Assist crews in quality decisions and clean-ups, meeting quality standards
Act as a relief for Operators, providing coverage during vacation and time off
Perform minor maintenance activities and assist Maintenance Team when needed
Conduct routine inspections of equipment in your area, advising Operators as needed including lift trucks
Attend all training required by the Company
Safety and Housekeeping
Hold self and others to high level of safety standards, ensuring workplace safety policies are upheld and safety rules are followed (lockout/tagout procedures, appropriate PPE)
Participate as needed in safety incidents and help investigate root cause
Operate, maintain, and inspect equipment to ensure compliance with all applicable environmental regulations, procedural reporting, and documentation requirements
Maintain a clean working environment by complying with procedures and housekeeping responsibilities
Pick up debris from work area, sweep, and use high pressure hoses to clean around heavy equipment
Education/Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent
2+ years of continuous full-time work experience or have been a full-time student required
Minimum of two years continuous work experience in a manufacturing, production, industrial, or labor intensive work environment preferred
Prior experience working shift work (days, 12-hour rotational, nights, weekends, etc.) preferred
Internal candidates must have successfully completed training and performance requirements needed to progress to the next position level
Skills/Abilities:
Familiar with an enterprise work order system preferred
Thorough understanding of manufacturing safety procedures (lockout/tagout, confine spaces, personal protective equipment, etc.) preferred
Illustrative Essential Functions:
Able to work in a physically demanding environment including temperature extremes, loud noise, avoiding slipping, tripping, and falling hazards
Physically capable of manual labor that includes bending, walking, sitting, standing, and climbing in and around machinery and equipment for entire 12-hour shift
Able to lift, up to 40 lbs frequently, between 40 and 50 lbs occasionally, over 50 lbs minimally. When lifting 50 lbs and above, Operator will use team lifting and overhead crane assistance
Work environment includes exposure to compressed air, steam, lubrication oil, dust, and hydraulic fluid
Able to wear and comply with all personal protective equipment (Eye and ear protection, steel toed shoes, etc.)
Able to work a 12-hour rotating shift including nights, weekends, and Holidays. Able to work overtime as needed.
Example of rotating shift schedule:
Day 1: 6:00am – 6:00pm
Day 2: 6:00am – 6:00pm
Day 3: 6:00am – 6:00pm
Day 4: 6:00am – 6:00pm
7 days off
