Software QA Test Engineer

Responsibilities:

In this position he Softeware QA Test Engineer will be responsible for:
  • Perform Software Quality Assurance testing for VA projects and programs
  • Independently develop and execute test scripts to ensure that quality software is provided for release to production and to certify system changes
  • Produce expert level test plan documents and requirements
  • Develop test control databases
  • Performs solution testing confirming business requirements
  • Maintains test databases and ensures their integrity and currency
  • Distributes test data from control database to development staff to satisfy adequate unit testing
  • Develop, compile, document and runs automated test scripts and test procedures
  • Run regression tests
  • Track status of defects
  • Provide quality assurance testing for all systems to ensure the development and distribution of quality products
  • Assist with roll-out of systems documentation
  • Produce lists of defects that are to be resolved and incorporated into future releases of the application as required
  • Communicate with analysts and programmers about formal testing plans, problems, and results
  • Develop technical documentation and reports
  • Manage the Release Management process for all changes to the baseline IT infrastructure
  • Ensure all processes are adhered to appropriately throughout project lifecycles. Ensures all existing processes are fully documented, suggesting improvements, updating documentation, and communicating all process changes to relevant stakeholders

Qualifications:


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science degree with 2-4 years’ directly relevant experience performing tasks outlined above; alternatively, Master of Science degree with 0-2 years’ experience or High School Diploma with 8-10 years’ experience
  • Experience performing software QA testing on federal government projects; VA project experience highly preferred
  • Understanding of and experience working with Agile software development processes
  • Experience with JIRA Confluence

Salary Range: Salary Minimum: $40,000 Salary Mid: $80,000 Salary Maximum: $100,000 The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position, and is just one component of Peraton’s total compensation package for employees.
