Under limited supervision of the Senior Manager of the Career and Opportunities Development for Educational Services Division, directs the administration of Career Readiness Center (CRC), assist with programing at the Empowerment & Enrichment Academy, Youth Empowerment Centers/Sites (YES)(16).
Participates with state agencies, organizations that are involved with at-risk youth and job readiness and career development programs/services. Assist in the development of policy and procedures, and the planning, implementation, evaluation, monitoring, and revision of the aforementioned programs in accordance with legislative mandates and Agency Mission.
Coordinate additional services and programs to Midlands Empowerment & Enrichment Academy; support the YES, and respond to any requests (programing/services) from the YES; prepare CRC/YES monthly reports based on outcome measures and managing data for Career and Opportunities Development and Division of Educational Services and DJJ leadership.
Assists in marketing of the CRC/YES, serves as a back-up to the Career and Opportunities Senior Manager as needed; attending meetings; assist in the development of career and opportunities development programing and promotional materials, forms; travel as needed to promote and conduct training for the CRC and YES.
Provides statewide technical assistance, data collection and training to the Youth Empowerment Sites (16), and Long and Short Term Facilities (45), and Division Educational Services Career transition Teams and and assist with Job Development services for 2 Regions.
Provide job and career development services to your assigned region by working closely with regional administrators, County Directors and County Staff.
These services may include attending meeting, conducting career assessments, training and referrals for additional support and services.
Performs other related duties as requested or required.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
Agency Requirements: A Bachelor’s Degree and experience in student services programs

Knowledge of the principles and theories of student development and educational administration. Knowledge of the techniques of individual, group and career counseling (CDF).
Knowledge of laws, regulations, policies and procedures relevant to the area of employment; ability to exercise judgment and discretion
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Ability to interpret and apply laws, regulations, policies and procedures.
Highly organized and ability to communicate and work effectively with diverse groups and individuals within DJJ and externally.
This position reports to the Student Services Manager of Career and Opportunities Development; we receive annually scheduled Performance Evaluations.
Employee must be able to work independently within established guidelines, and be proactive in responding to Career and Opportunities Development customer needs.
Must have ability to work in a high-stress, high-traffic/fast-paced environment; and flexibility to work some evenings and weekends. Moderate lifting of 40 pounds or less, long periods of sitting and working at a computer monitor. Capable of attending overnight trainings and workshops
